Brian Cross

Elasticity; and Fund St. Louis

Brian is the Co-Founder, Managing Partner and Director of Rocket Science at Elasticity. He is also the President of Fund St. Louis, a community crowdfunding NFP focusing on seed capital support for startup and early stage small businesses in the St. Louis region. 

Prior to his role at Elasticity, Brian was Senior Vice President and Global Practice Group Leader of Fleishman-Hillard's digital communications practice overseeing the digital offices in 10 offices in 3 countries. Brian has more than 15 years of experience leading communication and consulting programs for Fortune 500, government, NGO, and NFP organizations, including roles as strategic client advisor, managing partner and director of PR and Marketing. Brian began his consulting career with Deloitte consulting working on the Kinko’s store redesign and then ultimately the Kinko’s/Fed Ex merger.

Brian’s specific experience ranges from online marketing and outreach strategy, technology consulting, mobile programs and Social Media campaigns. Brian’s previous responsibilities and expertise also includes creative direction, strategic alliance building, startup operations development, new business development, and change management. He is an accomplished group leader driven to build solid teams and he consistently directs the production of world-class work products. 

Clients ranging from AT&T, Yahoo!, Charter, UPS, Monsanto, Capital One and Anheuser Busch have trusted Brian to lead new media communications campaigns in digital, mobile, and social channels. In addition, Mr. Cross was the lead of a team that launched the first text messaging campaign for a mobile platform for the United States Department of the Treasury.

He is frequently called upon by the media or conference planners to speak on emerging communications topics, has been interviewed for several books on digital PR and is a featured blogger for Social Media Today, Social Informer, O'Dwyers, PR Newser and Alltop. Brian also trains PR colleagues on advanced topics in digital marketing and social media. 

Through his work with Fund St. Louis, Brian is also actively engaged in startup factors including market feasibility testing, capital sourcing, vetting of business models as well as creative development of business ideas to help jumpstart the entrepreneurial community in St. Louis.

Mr. Cross holds a Bachelor of Arts in marketing communications and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in visual communications with additional certification training and study in human factors, online marketing, and organizational effectiveness.
