Allison Watson Interview

Name: Allison Watson
School: Brown University
Current Postion: Strategic Consultant, Strategic Consulting & Advanced Analytics (SCAA)
Company: Epsilon

Could you give a brief description of your current job and responsibilities?

As a member of Epsilon’s Strategic Consulting and Advanced Analytics group focused in the pharmaceutical vertical, many of my responsibilities revolve around Relationship Marketing (RM) program development, providing strategic and analytics program recommendations based on measurement and best practices. Some responsibilities include primary research methodology creation & implementation, project management (creative & strategic deliverables), creating various process flows for user experiences.

How has your experience in NextGen helped you in your current position?

The principles taught both in program workshops and in practice during rotations provided a foundation for much of the creative and user experience recommendations we provide to clients daily. Much of what Epsilon does revolves around direct and interactive marketing; we just combine best practices with up to the moment performance metrics to optimize results and a positive user experience.

What kind of connections have you made through your involvement with NextGen?

I have become close friends with some members of the Program who have also become work colleagues post graduation! In addition, I’ve formed mentor-mentee relationships with a few supporters of the program. It’s been rather helpful to get career advice from someone who is not only very experienced but who truly cares about your development.

What advice would you give to someone considering participation in NextGen?

I’d encourage them to participate in the program even if they are not as versed in Direct/Interactive Marketing. You learn so much along the way from seminars, peers and supervisors coupled with hands on experience.

If you could only use one word to describe your NextGen experience, what would it be?
