Q: In the January 7, 2015 issue of Forbes magazine, contributing editor George Bradt was quoted: “There has been a seismic shift in the war for talent.  Those that don’t understand that shift and change their approach to talent management are going to fall into a newly opened crevasse from which they may never escape.”  Would you speak to the realities of Mr. Bradt’s predictions and the urgency with which he encourages those in business to change their course? 
A: As CEO of a creative service business, I know that one of our only differentiators lies with our people. Attracting, developing and retaining young talent is a key component to our strategic growth plan at LIFT.  
Q: Why Marketing EDGE?  As early as 2010 our records indicate engagement with LIFT Agency, with a number of different engagement activities over the years.  Would you articulate why you work with us in such a deep, committed way?   
A: In 2011, I was introduced to Marketing EDGE (DMEF) at an event in San Francisco. The dinner featured several young professionals who spoke about the value of their experiences with Marketing EDGE programs. I was so impressed with their smarts, enthusiasm and poise, I reached out the next week to see how we could be involved.  
I am grateful to many people in the industry who opened doors for me along my career path, and it feels good to have a vehicle to give back to the marketing community while helping foster the next generation of marketers.  
Q: The Corporate Leadership Program (CLP) was introduced in 2015.  LIFT Agency is one of the Founding Sponsors in what is a completely new mission-driven approach to engaging our corporate partners.  What are the most significant ways that the CLP can fit into the overall talent recruiting strategy at LIFT? 
A: The CLP gives LIFT access to a valuable network that enables us to efficiently identify the top talent for our upcoming internship or entry-level positions. The Marketing EDGE staff is a pleasure to work with—very responsive and accommodating. Recently, our digital strategy team expressed an interest in hosting a summer internship, and the EDGE team had great candidates ready to interview in under a week.  
Q: Is there anything else you would like to relay about this program, about talent development, and / or Marketing EDGE? 
A: If you haven’t already, don’t hesitant to ask how you and your organization can get involved. You’ll be glad you did.   

As a nonprofit organization launched 50 years ago, Marketing EDGE thrives today thanks to the generosity and support of its corporate partners.  
That support often comes in a number of ways… including pro bono support.  Over the past 3+ years, the generous contribution and service made available by the LIFT Agency has had a profound impact on Marketing EDGE, with perhaps the most important and visible being the organization’s brand identity, architecture and messaging.   
Our brand identity centered around our logo below was created, developed – and (still) evolving – since its industry introduction in June 2013… pro bono!   
To the LIFT Agency team, starting with Board member, Tim Carr, we could write volumes, but we’ll express it simply by saying: “Thank you for making us look so good!”
