Liberta Abbondante

Liberta Abbondante is an industry leader with broad, senior-level offline and digital marketing experience at multiple global newspaper and magazine publishing companies. Her collective marketing, merchandising and distribution experience crosses some of the world’s largest magazine and newspaper brands, web properties and membership organizations. She joined Hearst Magazines in 2008 as senior vice president of consumer marketing, and in that position, manages the company’s 21-title magazine portfolio in all print and digital edition, subscription and single-copy marketing activities. Liberta oversees rate base management, customer acquisition and retention, database and marketing operations and analytics, financial management and reporting, newsstand distribution and sales, new magazine launches and new business development activities (over 28M monthly subscriptions and 2M plus in newsstand sales.
Active in the industry, Abbondante sits on the Board at the Alliance for Audited Media as Treasurer, and was recently appointed to serve on the Board of Texture/Next Issue Media. Abbondante is also an active member of various working groups, including AAM’s Magazine Director’s Advisory Committee, Association of Magazine Media’s (MPA) Consumer Marketing and Government Affairs Committees. In 2007, in recognition of her marketing leadership, Abbondante was inducted into the Direct Marketing Association Hall of Fame. She was also inducted into min’s Marketing Hall of Fame in 2016, named the 2014 Marketer of the Year by the DMA and was awarded the 2013 Silver Apple Award by the New York Direct Marketing Club and received the 2012 Lee C. Williams Award by the Fulfillment Manager’s Association in recognition of her contribution to the direct marketing community. She holds a B.S. degree from City University of New York, Brooklyn College and lives with her husband in New Jersey.
