Charlotte Mason is Professor of Marketing at the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia where she is Head of the Department of Marketing and Director of the Coca-Cola Center for Marketing Studies. Formerly she was at the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of Chapel Hill since completing her doctorate in business from Stanford University in 1985.

Charlotte’s research focuses on the development and testing of marketing models and applications of multivariate statistics to marketing problems. She is currently investigating issues regarding the visual representation of data as well as strategic issues surrounding customer relationship management. Her research has been published in leading journals including Marketing Science, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research, Marketing Letters, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Interactive Marketing, Strategic Management Journal and the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science.

She has taught classes in the undergraduate, daytime and executive MBA, and PhD programs. Her current teaching focuses on Marketing Analytics and Decision-Making, Customer Relationship Strategy and Practices, and Database Marketing. Duke, Berkeley, Northwestern and Emory are among the universities using her course notes and cases. She has received several research grants from the Marketing Science Institute as well as grants from Dell and IBM sponsored programs to encourage the use of technology in teaching.

Charlotte has served on several editorial boards including Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science (1997 – present), Journal of Marketing (1990-1999), Journal of Marketing Research (1993-2003) and the Journal of Relationship Marketing (2005-present). She is co-author (with William Perreault) of The Marketing Game!, a strategic marketing simulation. Charlotte is currently completing a three-year elected term on the AMA Academic Council which represents the leadership of the AMA Academic Division.

Her industry experience includes work for Procter & Gamble, Booz, Allen and Hamilton as well as consulting projects. Charlotte holds three additional degrees from Stanford: a master’s degree in statistics in 1984, a second master’s degree in industrial engineering and engineering management in 1978 and a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering in 1977.
