MARKETING EDGE ANNOUNCES NEXTGEN LEADERS PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS FOR 2015-2016

NEW YORK — Marketing EDGE, a nonprofit education organization, announces the start of the ninth year of its Next Generation Leaders program (NextGen), a highly competitive, fast-track program that places outstanding college graduates in a 12-month rotation at leading U.S. marketing organizations. Beginning this month, four graduates – known as program associates — will serve at four participating firms: SSA & Company and WLA, Inc. in New York, and LIFT Agency and Livefyre in San Francisco.
The NextGen associates, their college affiliations and their study majors are:
- Peyton Brown, University of Chicago, Psychology
- Martha Gallant, Tulane University, Public Health & Sociology
- Christine Menchaca, University of California-Berkeley, Media Studies
- Noelle Tremmel, University of San Diego, Marketing
“NextGen is an innovative, fast-track, rotational job program that elevates the visibility and engagement of Marketing EDGE among our country’s leading colleges and universities, and corporations which recruit marketing students, in our shared goal to increase the pipeline of quality and quantity of bright young professionals entering the marketing field,” said Terri L. “This past year, the Board of Trustees conducted a comprehensive review of all Marketing EDGE programs and determined that NextGen has served as an ideal model for programs offered through this nonprofit organization,” said Christine Aguilera, chair, Marketing EDGE and chief financial officer of International Cruise and Excursions, Inc. “Going forward, those in the industry can be assured that our Board and staff are redoubling efforts to bridge the gap between academic theory and the practical knowledge and skills required in the workplace. In accord with our mission, we capitalize on the unique intersection of students, academics and companies throughout the marketing field.”
Past participants have credited the program for giving them a strong foundation on which to build their careers: “I owe my career success thus far in large part to having gone through Marketing EDGE’s NextGen program,” said Magda Losonczy, director of digital marketing at Fidelity Investments, and a NextGen participant in 2009. “I’ve been in the industry seven years since graduating from college, and I am already at a senior level working on multi-channel digital projects. I credit the NextGen program with setting me up for success and arming me with an extensive digital marketing knowledge base.”
