MARKETING EDGE NAMES CAROL SCOVOTTI, PH.D., OUTSTANDING EDUCATOR
NEW YORK – July 2, 2018 – Marketing EDGE, a nonprofit education organization, today announced that Carol Scovotti, Ph.D., a Professor of Marketing and Fulbright Scholar at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, will receive this year’s Robert B. Clarke Outstanding Educator Award, recognizing an academician’s overall achievement in marketing education.
“The Robert Clarke Award is Marketing EDGE’s opportunity to not only recognize the outstanding achievements of an academic, but it also allows us to acknowledge the critical relationship educators play in our ability to successfully deliver on our mission: to Educate, Develop, Grow, and Employ college students in the field of marketing,” said Marketing EDGE President Terri L. Bartlett. “Given Dr. Scovotti’s history of academic and business success, she personifies the multi-faceted characteristics of today’s front-line educators, as she works to prepare the next generation of talent in this evolving business.”
Dr. Scovotti is also a Visiting Professor and Board of Advisors member at Cologne University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) in Germany. In addition to teaching marketing strategy and international marketing, She serves as the faculty advisor for the CUAS and Umea University (Sweden) exchange relationships. She is also the advisor for a new AMA diversity initiative. Her research focuses on cross border collaboration, multicultural virtual teamwork, and team governance.
She holds a doctorate in international business, marketing, and information technology from Pace University in New York City, a Masters in Business Administration from Loyola University of Chicago, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Marquette University. Before joining UWW-Whitewater in 2004, she was an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Christopher Newport University. Some of the journals in which she has published include Journal of Marketing Education, Marketing Management Journal, Journal of Advertising Education, Marketing Education Review, and Journal for the Advancement of Marketing Education.
About the Robert B. Clarke Outstanding Educator Award
The Robert B. Clarke Outstanding Educator Award recognizes an academician’s overall achievement in marketing education. It is based on an educator’s record of teaching, writing, research and speaking. Recent honorees have included Dr. Dhruv Grewal, Babson College; Dr. Charles Hofacker, Florida State University; Dr. Charlotte Mason, University of Georgia; Dr. Arvind Rangaswamy, Penn State University; and Dr. George Milne, University of Massachusetts Amherst. Nominations are submitted by academics; selections are confirmed by the Marketing EDGE Board of Trustees, who appoint the honoree to a one-year term as an academic Board member.
