NEW YORK – A game-changer for college students as they prepare to enter the workforce is their ability to translate theory to practical application. This skill is at the heart of the Collegiate ECHO Marketing Challenge. In 1986, Marketing EDGE, a higher education nonprofit organization – launched this major collegiate program, and has announced the Fall 2018-2019 sponsor, Boxed, a company that delivers bulk-sized groceries and everyday essentials.
Working in partnership with academics nationwide, this marketing competition attracts hundreds of undergraduate and graduate student teams that gain experience devising a marketing plan for a unique brand. The challenge to students specified by Boxed: Create a local integrated marketing campaign in a priority market.
“We’re excited to partner with Marketing EDGE on an opportunity for college students to work on a real-world marketing case,” said Elyse Burack, Director of Integrated Marketing and Brand at Boxed. “We are looking forward to the great ideas coming from these future marketing professionals. As a growing, entrepreneurial company, nurturing and educating young talent is part of our vision. This makes the Challenge a win-win for Boxed, Marketing EDGE, faculty and students."
Now in its 34th year, this college-level marketing campaign competition is conducted by Marketing EDGE, which offers a host of programs and special events to help build a bridge between aspiring students in the field of marketing and successful marketing careers. Gold-, silver- and bronze-Collegiate ECHO-winning undergraduate team members are eligible to win cash awards, and all student participants are eligible to apply for Marketing EDGE scholarships. Bartlett. “For this reason and many others, we’re thrilled to give students across the country a unique opportunity to compete in this year’s Challenge as they consider forward-looking marketing solutions for this dynamic company. Boxed joins a group of illustrious brands we’ve partnered with throughout the history of this program, as we work together to help launch the next generation of marketing leaders, while making students’ solutions available for future marketing efforts at Boxed.”
