Mirella Kleijnen           

Mirella Kleijnen is an associate professor at the Marketing Department of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She obtained her Ph.D. at Maastricht University, the Netherlands, which focused on consumer evaluations of mobile service innovations. Mirella combines research, teaching and marketing consulting. Her current research interests include adoption versus resistance toward innovation, interactive media (including mobile), customer experience and more recently health marketing. Her work has been published in several academic journals, among them Journal of Interactive Marketing, International Journal of Management Reviews, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Services Research, and Journal of Economic Psychology.

She currently teaches courses in undergraduate, postgraduate (MSc) and executive programs, and is a program director of the Bachelor International Business Administration of the Vrije Universiteit. Mirella’s consulting experience focuses on customer experience management as well as a wider range of marketing management topics, delivering workshops and seminars to small-scale firms as well as larger cooperation. She is also the project manager of the Center for Marketing Leadership (a joint initiative with the marketing consulting company VODW), which actively engages in bridging theory and practice through joint research initiatives.
