John Deighton, Ph.D., Guthy-Renker to be Honored
During DMA2011 in Boston

New York, NY, — The Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF) today announced that Dr. John Deighton, Brierley Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, will receive the Edward N. Mayer, Jr. Education Leadership Award — and Guthy-Renker, one of the world’s largest direct marketing companies, will be presented with the Corporate Leadership Award.

This year’s honors will be presented at the DMEF Annual Awards Dinner, Saturday, October 1, at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston. This prestigious event presents both marketing professionals and academics with the unique opportunity to gather together to celebrate the growth of multichannel marketing, stress the importance of education and entry-level placement in the greater community, and help advance cutting-edge direct/interactive marketing education resources. The dinner, which is the Foundation’s premier annual event, will be held during the Direct Marketing Association’s (DMA) DMA2011 Conference & Exhibition, the Global Event for Real-Time Marketers, which will run October 1-6 in Boston.

“DMEF’s Annual Awards Dinner attracts the top marketing leaders and influencers in the industry, because they recognize how vital DMEF’s outstanding programs are to educators and to the next generation of marketers,” said Richard Hochhauser, DMEF’s chair. “This year, we are delighted to pay tribute to John Deighton and Guthy-Renker, as we honor their commitment to advancing excellence and strengthening education in this rapidly evolving field.”
