With gratitude the Marketing EDGE is proud to announce the John Flieder Fund, honoring the culmination of a lifetime of achievements through the continual improvement of business practices in direct/interactive marketing. The Fund focuses on providing educators and students with leading-edge resources to ensure the perpetuation of talent and best practices among tomorrow’s business leaders.
After a long career in direct marketing, John Flieder died Monday, June 30, 2008 after a lengthy battle with kidney and bladder cancers. He was 71.
John Flieder, a former Marketing EDGE board member and former president and senior partner of The Callahan Group, dedicated his career to the advancement of integrated, interactive marketing materials to both educators and students. This Fund is designed to honor Mr. Flieder’s interest for education in the field, by providing access to the Marketing EDGE’s Professors’ Academy (an online, password-protected area of Marketing EDGE’s website). This access makes the latest educational resources available to academics worldwide who are committed to and interested in teaching direct/interactive marketing at colleges and universities.
"Overwhelmed with admiration, I had the rare and poignant opportunity to conceptualize and finalize plans for this fund with John himself ─ whose unwavering hope will always remain a beacon,” said Allen W. Dyon, past Marketing EDGE chairman and identified by John as the administrator of the Fund.
