The Students: Participants in the 2012 I-MIX program, sponsored by KBM/ Wunderman, talk about how the hands-on, real-life work experiences have motivated their choice of direct and interactive marketing as a career.  As one of the students remarked, “Just the connections I’m making at this [I-MIX] conference and learning about the different opportunities like [Marketing EDGE's] Next Generation Leaders could be a great platform to launch a career.”

The Practitioner: David Evans, senior vice president, broadband at AMC Networks Inc., handles acquisition strategy, brand development and content distribution across new media platforms for AMC Networks.  “A donation to Marketing EDGE is an investment we make to our own profession, our own brands, and our own future success as marketers. As we bring the best and brightest of young people into our field, we help to ensure new ideas, innovation, and energy for our brands in service to our customers. Marketing EDGE's far-reaching programs help get the job done.”

The Professor: Dr. “VK” V Kumar of Georgia State University, and a past Robert B. Clarke Educator of the Year, believes earnestly that education and business can and must give to each other as part of a virtuous cycle – and credits us for making such connections happen. “The give-and-take – what Marketing EDGE and my marketing career have given to me, and how I give as a teacher – are interconnected. That’s why I’m an annual donor to Marketing EDGE.”

The New Professional: Nicole Lombardo, account supervisor at Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal + Partners, got her start in advertising five years ago as a participant in Marketing EDGE's Next Generation Leaders (NextGen) Program. Nicole attributes her professional success to her experience in this associate-level rotation program. “I wouldn’t have had the opportunities to rise so quickly in my career had it not been for the Marketing EDGE and the contacts I made as a participant in the NextGen program.”
